Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.
Today's question is:
How does air suspension handle freeway driving? Um, so I would say compared to OEM, nothing will still beat OEM comfort just because OEM is made for the vehicle, right? And basically they always depending on the car actually if it's a sports car it's definitely going to be a bit more of a performance vehicle or performance ride. And if it's more like a daily then obviously it's going to be a lot more comfortable with air suspension. I would say probably it's kind of more towards the performance side of things. Um it's not a bad thing. It if anything it's actually really good in terms of you know giving you a little bit better handling, giving you a little bit better control uh when you're driving on the freeway especially since it is high speed right? You're looking at 60 and up. Um, but yeah, I mean I really no difference um if you're driving with OEM suspension and uh air suspension. It's just that the difference is you can adjust your height anytime you choose to by just pressing a button. That's really kind of the biggest difference. And you know, usually sometimes you're like, oh, um, you know, all of a sudden maybe eight people jump in a car, right? From like going from point A to point B. Then now you get you get to point C. all of a sudden you have extra uh load. Well, guess what? With air suspension, you press a button and it adjusts to how you want. So, you can always correct it. Compared to OEM, you're kind of stuck, right?
Paul Cotaco stated that air suspension leans toward the performance side compared to OEM, offering better handling and control, especially at freeway speeds (60 mph and up) (00:00:58). A key difference is the ability to adjust ride height instantly by pressing a button, which allows for correcting the vehicle's height even with extra load, unlike OEM suspension where the driver is "stuck" (00:02:11).
